Construction of the first protected bike lane in Irvine has started at Cadence after we pushed city council. But it's just a start. We envision off street trails and on street separated lanes everywhere.
We pushed to make Irvine's first city bus line run every 20 minutes instead of 30/60 peak/offpeak. Ridership has almost doubled since launch, and we're advocating for new bus lines to build a whole transit network.
Metrolink's SCORE program calls for regional trains connecting Irvine to the rest of OC and LA every 15 minutes by 2028. To do that, the agency needs a trainyard near Irvine Station. We are fighting to make sure the city approves it without further delay.
Inspired by San Bernardino's Arrow rail line, the Walnut Line is a proposal to use existing rail right of ways to create a modern backbone train service in Irvine using cutting edge multiple-unit trains from Europe. We are working with local and state officials to see this realized.
